Window at the button shop

A few weeks ago Lucy from the button shop asked me to ask SSK if they would knit some squares for her window. Here's the result. Don't they look great? The window will be there until 1 Sept, when it will be changed for a Gothic Geisha to celebrate the Blue Moon Festival. Yes, that's what the girl said. Goth Geisha.

Thanks to anyone who gave them squares. The little card at the bottom of the picture credits us with our contributions.

August 03

A smaller meeting again, but lots of fun. It was good to see Krista - we haven't seen her for many months. Andrew, the sock virgin, turned his first heel.

July meetings

I've combined the photos for the two July meetings: we had a really large meeting (with new! improved! added! overseas visitors James and Ian), followed by a very small one with only four people. Thanks to Kate for the extra photos of the first meeting - lots of them were better than  mine, especially the ones of people's faces. Must practise more.

23 June

A big group this time, including visitors from Canberra (Mon and Terese) and Uralla (yes, Nanna Peter paid us a visit). Thanks to the trusty notebook I think all the tags are correct, except for the skein of yarn - was that yours, Mon?

WWKIP07

We had a wonderful time at WWKIP07. After some discussion online we decided to meet at the same place as last year, and we were really glad we did. Although it's outdoors it is under shelter and we needed it - we met in the tail end of a really bad storm. It wasn't too cold, although it was blustery and there were a few rain squalls. Just the day to show off our great knits.

Pictures are in the sidebar. The notebook worked a treat - I didn't attempt to get to what people were knitting with such a large group but I got all the names in the right order (go on, prove me wrong!). Nearly thirty hardy knitters  - give us a cheer!

May 12 meeting

The album's in the sidebar - another big meeting. And, once again, I forgot a couple of things. Andrew, what were you knitting? And who was knitting what from Victorian Lace Today? And I'm not convinced that I attributed the raspberry crush socks correctly...

Sandra's had a brilliant idea: next meeting that I'm at I'll bring a notebook, which I will circulate, and in which you can all describe your projects in your own words. As long as I don't then lose the notebook, I will be able to annotate your photos accurately. Clever, no?

28 April

I finally got the pictures up for the 28 April meeting. I owe some people an apology:  neither of us could upload them during the week (you don't want to hear the saga involving bigpond and hours spent on a phone), and as neither Sandra nor I can remember all the details of what people are making, please email me with any details that you'd like added. And a special apology to Kathi - I can't seem to replace that cover picture of you with your eyes closed. I have tried and tried to change the album so that your picture isn't the one displayed in the sidebar, but typepad stubbornly refuses to comply. Please don't let it out you off coming back.

It was a lovely meeting - bigger than we've had for some months and as usual we were all friendly happy knitters. Enjoy!

March 31

I haven't posted for a while - I had an accident and missed a meeting, then attended one but forgot the camera. Our meetings have been very small for a while now, but this was a little bigger. Alison was there for a short while, working on her habu 'sewing cotton' cardigan, but we didn't get a picture before she had to go.

The special news was Veronica's win of a first in class in the Easter Show for a sleeveless vest. We brought her a little cake to celebrate and there's picture of it in the photo album.

17 February

Again a small meeting - just five of us. But we saw some lovely work. Pictures in the sidebar. You can also see pictures of  SSK people at Opera in the Park on Australia Day here and here.

January 6 meeting

Having missed all the December meetings for different reasons I was looking forward to our first January meeting. Unfortunately we hadn't checked and Barmuda wasn't open! Sandra and I met Lyndell and Sally outside, putting a note on the door, so we all repaired to the nearest open cafe.

Pictures in the sidebar.

Since then we've discovered that a few other people turned up, but didn't find our note. Next year we'll check.
